Coming Soon: Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) Copay Assistance

If you’ve been prescribed Imbruvica (ibrutinib) for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM), or chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD), the cost of treatment can feel overwhelming. As a brand-only specialty oncology medication, Imbruvica carries one of the highest list prices in cancer care, often leaving patients with significant out-of-pocket copays even when insured.

This is a coming soon page. QuickRx Specialty Pharmacy does not yet dispense Imbruvica. Generic ibrutinib received tentative FDA approval in 2025 and is expected to become commercially available in late 2026 or early 2027, once patent and exclusivity barriers expire. Once generic ibrutinib launches, QuickRx will dispense it nationwide and coordinate every available copay assistance pathway for eligible patients.

FAQs

Imbruvica (Ibrutinib) Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ ACCORDION HTML:

Does QuickRx currently dispense Imbruvica?
Not yet. QuickRx Specialty Pharmacy is preparing to dispense generic ibrutinib once it becomes FDA-approved and commercially available in the United States, expected in late 2026 or early 2027. Until then, this page is informational only. To join our priority notification list, call (917) 830-2525.
When will generic ibrutinib be available in the U.S.?
Generic ibrutinib received tentative FDA approval in 2025, and several manufacturers have filed abbreviated new drug applications. Based on patent expiration and exclusivity timelines, the earliest expected commercial launch of generic ibrutinib in the U.S. is late 2026, with broader availability anticipated in early to mid 2027. QuickRx will dispense generic ibrutinib once it becomes available.
Is there a generic version of Imbruvica available now?
No. As of this page’s last update, no FDA-approved generic ibrutinib is commercially available in the United States. Imbruvica is currently a brand-only medication marketed in the U.S.
What is Imbruvica copay assistance?
Imbruvica copay assistance refers to a combination of programs that help eligible patients reduce their out-of-pocket costs for the medication, including manufacturer copay cards, independent foundation grants, and patient assistance programs (PAPs). Once QuickRx begins dispensing generic ibrutinib, eligible patients may pay $0 per prescription depending on insurance and program eligibility.
Will I qualify for Imbruvica copay assistance?
Eligibility depends on your insurance type, household income, and the specific program. Manufacturer copay cards are typically limited to patients with commercial (private) insurance. Patients with Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, or VA coverage are not eligible for manufacturer copay programs by federal law but may qualify for independent foundation grants or patient assistance programs. Once we begin dispensing, our patient navigators will run a complete benefits investigation and identify every program you qualify for.
What is Imbruvica used to treat?
Imbruvica is FDA-approved to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), CLL/SLL with 17p deletion, Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM), and chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) in adults and pediatric patients age 1 and older. It belongs to a class of medications known as Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors.
What is the generic name for Imbruvica?
The generic (active ingredient) name for Imbruvica is ibrutinib. While the brand name is Imbruvica, the FDA-approved generic version, when commercially launched, will be marketed under the name ibrutinib.
How does Imbruvica work?
Imbruvica is a Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor. It works by blocking BTK, an enzyme that cancerous B-cells need to grow and divide. By stopping this signal, Imbruvica slows or halts the progression of certain B-cell cancers and helps regulate immune-related conditions like cGVHD.
How is Imbruvica taken?
Imbruvica is taken orally once daily, with or without food, at approximately the same time each day. It is available as capsules, tablets, and an oral suspension. Capsules and tablets should be swallowed whole with water and should not be opened, broken, or chewed. Dosing varies based on indication, patient weight (for pediatric cGVHD), and concurrent medications.
What are common Imbruvica side effects?
Common side effects of Imbruvica include diarrhea, fatigue, bruising, joint and muscle pain, nausea, rash, fever, and respiratory or skin infections. More serious risks can include bleeding, atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, infections, and second primary cancers. Patients should always discuss side effects with their prescriber and report any unusual symptoms promptly.
Are there food or drug interactions with Imbruvica?
Yes. Imbruvica is metabolized by CYP3A4, so patients should avoid grapefruit, grapefruit juice, and Seville oranges while taking it. Many medications, including certain antifungals, antibiotics, and seizure medications, can interact with Imbruvica. Always provide your prescriber and pharmacist with a complete list of medications, supplements, and over-the-counter products you take.
Will QuickRx ship generic ibrutinib nationwide?
Yes. QuickRx Specialty Pharmacy is URAC- and ACHC-accredited and licensed to dispense in all 50 states. Once generic ibrutinib is commercially available, we will ship it directly to patients nationwide with secure, signature-required delivery, alongside full patient navigator support for insurance, prior authorization, and copay assistance coordination.

Call us at (917) 830-2525 or fill out the form on this page to join our priority notification list. As soon as generic ibrutinib becomes available, our patient navigators will reach out to begin your benefits investigation and prescription transfer.
