Rash (often maculopapular; can be widespread)

Less Common Side Effects (1–10%)
These occur in 1 to 10 out of 100 patients:
Nausea
Constipation
Dizziness
Headache
Muscle pain or weakness
Swelling of hands, ankles, or feet (peripheral edema)
Insomnia or sleep disturbances
Cough
Anxiety
Depression
Increased cholesterol or triglyceride levels
Decreased hemoglobin (anemia)
Serious or Rare Side Effects (<1%)
These are rare but may be severe or life-threatening:
Seizures – Erleada can lower the seizure threshold, especially in patients with a history of seizures or brain injury.
Interstitial lung disease or pneumonitis – Uncommon but serious; presents as cough, fever, and shortness of breath.
QT prolongation – May affect heart rhythm and increase the risk of arrhythmias.
Hepatotoxicity – Elevated liver enzymes; liver function tests should be monitored.
Hypothyroidism – May require thyroid hormone replacement.
Skin reactions – Including Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (extremely rare but severe).
Laboratory Abnormalities
Detected via blood tests, these are not always accompanied by symptoms:
Elevated liver enzymes (AST, ALT)
Increased blood creatinine
Decreased white blood cell count
Changes in lipid profile (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides)
Low red blood cell count
Side Effects Related to Hormone Suppression
Because Erleada is used with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), some side effects may overlap:
Sexual dysfunction or decreased libido
Gynecomastia (breast tissue enlargement)
Osteoporosis or bone thinning
