Roll Over MS: QuickRx Joins the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation for an Inclusive Celebration of Movement, Community, and Hope

Rolloverblog

QuickRx Specialty Pharmacy is thrilled to be part of yet another MS Focus: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation event. Supporting the MS community is a cause close to our hearts here at QuickRx, and our partnership with the Foundation continues to grow stronger with every shared mission, every event, and every patient we help along the way.

November of last year, we were proud sponsors of the 2nd Annual MS Focus on Fashion (MSFOF) gala, a stunning evening at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort that brought together nearly 250 guests and raised over $100,000 for people living with MS. The gala featured thirteen incredible models from the MS community walking the runway in adaptive couture, proving that confidence and style have no limitations. It was a night filled with elegance, emotion, and purpose, and it reminded all of us why this work matters so deeply. (You can read our full recap of the MSFOF gala here.)

Now, the Foundation is taking that same spirit outdoors with a brand-new grassroots event: Roll Over MS, heading to South Florida, Central Florida, and New Jersey in 2026. QuickRx will be there for both the South Florida and New Jersey events, showing up for our MS community on both coasts. 💙

What Is Roll Over MS?

Roll Over MS is a grassroots fundraiser hosted by MS Focus: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. It is an inclusive 3K event where participants can walk, roll, skate, scoot, or bike through the course at their own pace. But this event carries a meaning that goes much deeper than a fun morning outdoors.

The name itself, “Roll Over MS,” speaks directly to one of the most significant and deeply personal challenges that people with multiple sclerosis face: mobility.

Why “Rolling” Matters

Ms

Mobility loss is one of the most common and life-altering effects of MS. Walking difficulties affect the majority of people living with the disease at some point in their journey. MS attacks the central nervous system, damaging the protective myelin sheath around nerve fibers and disrupting the signals between the brain and the body. This can lead to muscle weakness, spasticity, foot drop, fatigue, and problems with balance and coordination, all of which make something as simple as walking across a room an exhausting challenge.

Walking Aid (40%)
Wheelchair (25%)
No Aid (35%)

MS Mobility Aid Use Within 15 Years of Diagnosis

For many people with MS, mobility means relying on a cane, a walker, a wheelchair, or a scooter. Research shows that approximately half of all people living with MS will require some form of mobility support, and by fifteen years after diagnosis, there is roughly a 40% chance of needing a walking aid and a 25% chance of needing a wheelchair. These numbers are staggering, and they are the lived reality for over a million people in the United States alone.

That is exactly why Roll Over MS is named the way it is. The word “roll” is intentional. It is a celebration of every form of movement, not just walking. It says: whether you walk, wheel, scoot, or glide, you belong here. In a world that often designs events around the assumption that everyone can walk, this event was created with the understanding that not everyone can, and that is perfectly okay. In fact, it is something worth celebrating.

An Event Built on Inclusivity

What makes Roll Over MS truly special is its intentional design. This is not an event where accessibility is an afterthought. It is woven into the DNA of the experience.

The event brings together people of all abilities and ages: individuals living with disabilities, families with children, athletes, exercise enthusiasts, caregivers, medical professionals, and compassionate supporters. There is no pressure to keep a certain pace, no expectation of athletic performance, and no finish line that only rewards speed. Every participant, no matter how they move through the course, is making a difference simply by showing up.

This level of inclusivity matters because MS is unpredictable. A person might walk without assistance on a cool morning and need a wheelchair by the afternoon when fatigue sets in. Symptoms can shift daily, even hourly. By creating a space where every form of mobility is welcomed equally, Roll Over MS sends a powerful message to people living with the disease: you are not defined by how you move. You are defined by the fact that you showed up.

And children under 12 participate for free, making this a family-friendly experience that helps the next generation understand empathy, inclusion, and the importance of showing up for those around them.

The People Powering the Mission

Behind every great event is a team that lives and breathes its mission. The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation’s leadership team is a group of people whose dedication to the MS community is nothing short of extraordinary.

Natalie Blake, Executive Director, oversees programs and services, advocacy and outreach, and fund development at the Foundation. Natalie served as Director of Program Services from 2012 to 2022 before stepping into her current role, and she has been instrumental in growing and adding programs to meet the critical needs of those living with MS, including the Foundation’s Uber/Lyft transportation program, which started as a collaboration with the University of Miami. She oversees patient advocacy and outreach efforts and has built relationships with pharmaceutical industry funders, advocacy leaders, MS centers, and MS neurologists across the country. Natalie currently serves as Vice-President of the MS Coalition and is an Ambassador of PCORI, representing the Foundation and people with MS in patient-centered research initiatives. Her advocacy work spans decades: she testified before Congress in 1994 regarding portability of insurance, played a role in the passage of COBRA, and in 2017 testified before the Florida Senate Insurance and Banking committee urging protections for people with MS to access their disease-modifying drugs without having to fail therapies first.

Kasey Minnis, Executive Director, has been with the Foundation since 1993. She oversees communications, administration, and campaign fundraising, and serves as editor-in-chief of MS Focus Magazine and the Foundation’s chief health educator. Kasey has been invited to sit on advisory panels for pharmaceutical partners and the MS Coalition, and works as the Foundation’s media liaison with outlets like WebMD, Everyday Health, and Healthline. She has co-authored research on the perception of MS care among diverse populations. As a chronically ill and dynamically disabled woman herself, Kasey brings deeply personal passion to her advocacy for disability awareness and empowering health education for the chronically ill.

Traci Allyn Shur, Director of Philanthropy, is the driving force behind the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. From corporate partnerships and planned giving to signature events like MS Focus on Fashion and Roll Over MS, Traci builds the bridges between generous supporters and the critical programs that serve people with MS every day. Her work ensures the Foundation can continue offering all of its services free of charge to those who need them most.

Michele Austin, Fund Development Coordinator, brings a background in law, fund development, and the arts to her role at the Foundation. Michele coordinates fundraising initiatives and community outreach, and has been instrumental in amplifying the voices and stories of people living with MS. If you’d like to get involved in any MS Focus event, Michele is the person to reach out to at michele@msfocus.org.

Together with the rest of the MS Focus team, Natalie, Kasey, Traci, and Michele ensure that every dollar raised, every event hosted, and every program delivered truly reaches the people who need it.

About MS Focus: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation

Since 1986, MS Focus: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation has been providing life-changing programs and services free of charge to people living with MS. Operating nationwide from a single location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Foundation supports everyone it serves with compassion and personal attention.

Multiple sclerosis is a progressive neurological disease that affects the central nervous system of more than one million people in the United States. While MS can affect anyone regardless of age, race, gender, or socioeconomic background, it most commonly affects women between the ages of 20 and 40. It is one of the most expensive diseases to manage due to ever-changing and often worsening symptoms.

The Foundation provides critical services including homecare assistance, caregiver respite, payment for neurologist visits, medical transportation, durable medical equipment and assistive devices, disease education and awareness programs, disaster relief support, assistance with rent and utilities during health crises, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

There is currently no cure for MS, but by supporting the Foundation’s work and events like Roll Over MS, you help make better days possible for the people and families navigating this disease every single day.
