Praziquantel paralyzes and kills parasites by increasing calcium ion flow into their cells. This causes them to detach from body tissues so your immune system can eliminate them naturally.
- Usually taken 3 times in one day (4–6 hours apart)
- Take with food to improve absorption
- Tablets should be swallowed whole with water
- Follow all instructions from your healthcare provider
Common side effects:
- Headache, nausea, fatigue
- Abdominal pain or upset stomach
- Mild fever or dizziness
Serious side effects (rare):
- Allergic reactions
- Seizures or confusion

- Drowsiness
